Mortgage Underwriter - Remote

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Temporary Mortgage Underwriter for Correspondent Loans (REMOTE).

Key Responsibilities

• Review and underwrite closed loan packages for compliance with FNMA and internal guidelines
• Validate income, assets, credit, and collateral documentation to determine loan eligibility
• Communicate with correspondent sellers regarding loan decisions and documentation needs

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of four years of experience in a credit union, bank, or financial institution
• Hands-on experience with Encompass within the last 12 months
• Detailed knowledge of secondary market guidelines and some regulatory knowledge
• Must comply with Mortgage Loan Originator requirements set forth in the SAFE Act
