MS SQL Server DBA
Job Summary
Supporting a large-scale migration of SQL Server environments from on-premises infrastructure to AWS, the full-time MS SQL Server DBA will manage database migrations, performance tuning, and production support while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end migration of Microsoft SQL Server databases to AWS, including assessing existing environments and designing migration plans
- Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server environments on AWS, while troubleshooting performance and availability issues
- Create operational documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the migration lifecycle
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience
- Strong experience with SQL Server versions 2008 R2 through 2022 and cloud migration to AWS
- Expertise in SQL Server installation, configuration, backup/recovery, and performance tuning
- Experience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery technologies
- Strong knowledge of Amazon EC2, EBS, VPC, and cloud-based SQL Server operations
