Job Summary
Detail-oriented and experienced in multi-jurisdictional payroll, the contract Payroll Specialist will manage payroll processing across the US and Canada, ensuring compliance with regulations and supporting benefits administration in a fully remote role for a fast-growing SaaS company.
Key responsibilities
- Own timely and accurate payroll processing across the US and Canada, managing discrepancies and preparing payroll reports
- Stay informed on federal, state, provincial, and local payroll regulations, ensuring compliance and reporting to leadership
- Administer employee benefits enrollment and updates, serving as a resource for benefits-related inquiries
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related field; CPP designation is a bonus
- 2-5 years of payroll experience with hands-on processing in both the US and Canada
- Solid familiarity with benefits administration, including retirement plans in both countries
- Deep knowledge of payroll systems and multi-jurisdictional compliance
- Experience with payroll and HRIS systems, with BambooHR and PayEvo experience as a plus
