Multi-State Payroll Manager

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Payroll Manager to oversee and scale payroll and compliance operations for a remote, multi-state employer.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer full-cycle payroll for over 160 U.S. employees, ensuring accurate processing of compensation changes and payroll tax filings
• Manage state tax registrations and compliance, including monitoring agency notices and audits
• Oversee accounts payable operations, including vendor payments and employee expense reimbursements

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience managing U.S. payroll, specifically for a remote workforce
• Experience with state tax registrations and compliance across multiple jurisdictions
• Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws
• Experience administering payroll in Rippling is strongly preferred
• CPP certification is a plus
