Job Summary
Seeking an ambitious National Correspondent, Immigration, this full-time remote position will lead coverage of immigration issues, producing impactful daily and enterprise reporting that highlights the effects of immigration policies across the U.S.
Key responsibilities
- Report and write high-impact stories on immigration enforcement and its impact on communities, families, and institutions
- Develop and maintain a robust network of sources, including government officials and community leaders
- Break exclusive news and respond rapidly to developments in immigration policy
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent experience
- At least five years of experience in journalism, with a focus on complex beats such as immigration or politics
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate sources and produce exclusive, deeply sourced stories
- Fluency in Spanish, with the ability to conduct interviews and review documents in the language
- Exceptional writing skills and strong news judgment to engage a national audience
