Job Summary
To support the future direction of public policy and advocacy, the full-time salaried National Policy Manager will provide advocacy training, develop resources, and manage administrative tasks while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with state Affiliates to advance legislation, strengthen relationships with policymakers, and build capacity in public policy
- Support federal and state advocacy efforts by conducting policy research, drafting materials, and representing the organization in coalitions
- Coordinate cross-departmental communication and provide administrative support for various policy initiatives and meetings
Required qualifications
- Five to six years of relevant experience in public policy, preferably within nonprofit affiliate membership organizations
- Demonstrated experience with Medicaid, CHIP, and health policy issues, including securing public funding
- Experience designing and delivering virtual advocacy training and developing advocacy resources
- Strong analytical and writing skills, with experience drafting policy materials and tracking legislation
- Working knowledge of federal lobbying rules and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
