Nature-Based Solutions Consultant

Job Summary

To support the integration of Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) into investment appraisal processes, the remote Consultant for Nature-Based Solutions will develop a comprehensive guidance document aimed at financial institutions, detailing practical entry points and appraisal tools for making NbS bankable and replicable.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a guidance document that includes screening approaches for identifying NbS value within investment pipelines
• Conduct a desk review and engage with professionals to support the drafting of the guidance, including a case study on municipal infrastructure financing
• Collaborate with the IWMI team and external professionals for document refinement and review before finalizing the guidance document

Required qualifications

• Degree or master's degree in environmental engineering, Water Resources, Natural Resource Economics, Urban Planning, Climate Finance, or a related field
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience with a focus on nature-based solutions and infrastructure investment appraisal
• Demonstrated experience integrating NbS into frameworks used by financial institutions, including development banks and municipal financing institutions
• Proven track record in producing guidance notes or technical reports for institutional or donor audiences
