Nebraska Billing Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Specialist, Billing.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, coordinate, develop, and implement billing processes for critical access hospitals and rural health clinics
• Process claims accurately and resolve issues impacting reimbursement, including medical necessity and coding discrepancies
• Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor for billing staff, assisting with complex billing issues and developing best practice workflows

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience required, with emphasis on critical access hospital billing preferred
• Proven experience with facility-based claims and payer reimbursement methodologies
• Strong knowledge of medical and insurance terminology
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; knowledge of Nebraska payer rules is a plus
