Netezza Migration Engineer
Job Summary
Supporting the migration and modernization of Netezza workloads onto Microsoft Azure, the remote contract Netezza Migration Engineer will assess existing environments, migrate large-scale datasets, and optimize performance in the Azure data platform.
Key responsibilities
- Assess existing Netezza environments and develop migration plans for transitioning data warehouse workloads to Azure
- Convert Netezza SQL and database objects into Azure-compatible formats and design data validation processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify migration risks and ensure successful production cutover and post-migration stabilization
Required qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM Netezza and Netezza Performance Server
- Proficient in Netezza SQL, NZSQL, and database utilities
- Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Factory
- Strong SQL development and performance tuning skills
- Ability to create migration runbooks and validation plans
