Network Automation Engineer

Job Summary

Combining networking expertise with software development fundamentals, the full-time Network Automation Engineer will design, develop, and build networking and automation components for the global backbone network, collaborating closely with partner teams in Azure Networking.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing reliable, scalable, and high-performance network features or components with guidance from other engineers
• Contribute to testing and validation of network devices, firmware, and configurations, defining and implementing test cases with existing automation tools
• Manage network buildouts and provide instructions to data center or network site staff on maintaining physical network hardware deployed in production

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements
• Preferred: Master's Degree in a related field or a Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation
