Network Automation Engineer

Job Summary

To optimize wireline fiber and IP networks, the full-time remote Principal Network Automation Engineer will plan, design, develop, and implement software-driven solutions while providing guidance to the team and enhancing operational efficiency through automation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of custom code and complex automation solutions for provisioning and monitoring multi-vendor networks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate network requirements into scalable software solutions and establish system integrations
• Provide mentorship and training to the Network Automation Team and contribute to technical documentation and quality assurance processes

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or relevant field preferred
• Minimum of seven years of experience in software development focused on access networks
• Experience developing and implementing network automation strategies
• At least five years of experience with Python, Ansible, REST APIs, and related tools in a Network Automation environment
• Proven ability to translate manual processes into automated workflows
