Job Summary
Working remotely on a contract basis, the Network Engineer - Texas Licensed will focus on deploying network fabric configurations to support 5G initiatives, managing advanced configurations and operating system upgrades for Cisco, Juniper, and Nokia equipment during overnight shifts.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prioritize, and implement maintenance window changes with minimal supervision, ensuring adherence to corporate standards
- Deploy network configurations at Service Aggregation Points (SAP) and Transport Aggregation Points (TAP) to facilitate 5G services
- Utilize automation tools for network configuration deployment and monitor network equipment functionality during maintenance windows
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or five or more years of relevant work experience
- Networking experience with IP Layer 1-3 (IPv4/IPv6) and knowledge of VXLAN or fabric networking
- Hands-on experience deploying network configurations without service interruptions
- Extensive experience with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and IS-IS
- Cisco (CCIE or CCNP) or Nokia networking certifications
