Network Engineer
Job Summary
Managing day-to-day network operations in a remote contract role, the Network Engineer will operate and administer a large-scale global mixed media network environment while monitoring performance and implementing data network changes.
Key responsibilities
- Operate, administer, and manage daily network operations supporting mission-critical customer applications
- Monitor the data network for performance degradation, connectivity issues, and system events, resolving tickets with vendors and internal support
- Create and implement changes to the data network as required
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or a related area
- Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, VXLAN, and MPLS
- Experience managing enterprise firewalls, IPsec/SSL VPNs, and access control lists (ACLs)
- Comfort with adopting new technologies and implementing solutions using automation and security principles
