Network Engineer II

Job Summary

Providing operational support for a growing carrier-class IP infrastructure, the full-time remote Network Engineer II will manage the deployment of network equipment, assist in troubleshooting, and maintain network documentation across a multi-state network.

Key responsibilities

• Design and configure network services and infrastructure for growth and efficiency
• Generate installation documentation and Method of Procedure (MOP) documents for network maintenance
• Assist in troubleshooting service impairments and implement proactive changes to prevent future incidents

Required qualifications

• 4-year degree in engineering or computer science preferred, or relevant experience and certifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the telecommunications industry
• At least one significant industry certification, such as NRS-1 or CCNA
• Working knowledge of PON, Transport, IP/MPLS, and xWDM technologies
• Understanding of networking architectures, standards, and protocols, including Layer 0-4 standards
