Network Engineer III

Job Summary

Working remotely on a contract basis, the Network Engineer III will be responsible for advanced configuration and operating system upgrades of carrier-class Cisco and Nokia equipment while collaborating with engineering teams to implement strategic technology goals in a nationwide data network.

Key responsibilities:

• Plan and implement maintenance window changes with minimal supervision, ensuring adherence to corporate standards
• Configure routers, switches, and related network equipment, leveraging automation tools to complete projects
• Perform BAU maintenance tasks, including ACL updates and software upgrades on the eNSE fabric

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant work experience
• Extensive knowledge of Layer 1 troubleshooting for copper and fiber cabling
• In-depth knowledge of Command Line Interface (CLI) commands for various networking devices
• Experience with IP Layer 1-3 for Edge Networks and strong knowledge of MPLS
• Hands-on experience with virtualization of networks and implementing updates on working devices
