Job Summary

Working remotely on a contract basis, the Network Engineer - NJ Licensed will perform advanced configuration and operating system upgrades of carrier-class Cisco and Nokia equipment, manage implementation responsibilities for network projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve strategic technology goals.

Key responsibilities:
  • Plan, prioritize, and implement maintenance window changes with minimal supervision while adhering to corporate standards
  • Configure routers, switches, and related network equipment, including Cisco and Juniper devices, and perform troubleshooting of transport circuits
  • Utilize automation tools and network monitoring tools to ensure functionality and support the deployment of new routers and switches in data center locations
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant work experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Layer 1 troubleshooting for copper and fiber cabling
  • Hands-on experience with configuration and command line interface (CLI) commands for various networking devices
  • Strong understanding of IP Layer 1-3 for Edge Networks and MPLS
  • Ability to follow and implement detailed engineering design documents and communicate effectively with team members
