Network Migration Architect
Job Summary
Leading a remote team of cutover migration engineers, the contracted Network Migration Architect will manage overnight cut windows, oversee the replacement of legacy Cisco and Juniper hardware, and ensure seamless execution of migration processes from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM CST.
Key responsibilities
- Run the cut window end to end, directing a team of 7 to 8 remote engineers and making critical go/no-go decisions
- Act as the escalation point for complex faults, diagnosing issues in real time and guiding non-network onsite personnel through physical remediation
- Author and validate Method of Procedures (MOPs) and cable matrices to ensure alignment with design and prevent outages
Required qualifications
- Active CCIE or equivalent Juniper expert level certification (JNCIE) is mandatory
- Architect level expertise in Cisco IOS, IOS XE, Nexus platforms, and Juniper Junos
- Proven experience leading a team through live change windows in a cutover or migration environment
- Hands-on experience with MOP authoring and cable matrix validation
- Ability to work the overnight shift consistently, with a strong foundation in routing and switching fundamentals
