Network Migration Architect
Job Summary
Leading a remote team of migration engineers, the contracted Network Migration Architect will manage overnight cutover operations, ensuring the successful replacement of legacy Cisco and Juniper hardware while making critical decisions under pressure.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end cut window for a team of 7 to 8 engineers, directing operations and managing escalations
- Author and execute Method of Procedures (MOPs), ensuring alignment with design and device state prior to cut windows
- Guide non-network onsite personnel through troubleshooting physical errors via phone during cutovers
Required qualifications
- Active CCIE or equivalent Juniper expert level certification (JNCIE)
- Architect level expertise in Cisco IOS, IOS XE, Nexus, and Juniper Junos platforms
- Proven experience leading cutover or migration engineering teams through live change windows
- Hands-on experience with MOP authoring and cable matrix creation and validation
- Ability to work the overnight shift from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM CST consistently
