Network Provisioning Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely on a contract basis, the Network Provisioning Engineer will manage the preparation, testing, grooming, and provisioning of customer networks to facilitate the migration of traffic from decommissioned network elements, focusing on layer 1 technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepping and testing network elements for traffic migration and decommissioning processes
• Collaborating with onsite technicians to verify pathways and execute maintenance and activation activities
• Providing updates and escalations to the program leader while scheduling and coordinating tasks with internal teams

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in telecom network provisioning and grooming
• Strong background in network turn downs, traffic migration, and activations/implementations
• Proficiency with layer 1 technologies, including SONET and TDM-Copper
• Experience with Ciena, Fujitsu, Nortel MUX, and related network tools
• Able to work flexible shifts in a 24x7 environment
