Network Specialist - Outside Plant Engineering

Job Summary

Working remotely in any of the 40+ states where TDS Telecom operates, the full-time Network Specialist - Outside Plant Engineering will assist in creating OSP design maps using GIS, monitor project costs and progress, and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with TDS standards and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Design OSP projects and supervise consultants managing outside plant construction and splicing operations
• Provide technical support for special projects, ensuring proper accounting and legal compliance
• Conduct audits of OSP projects and coach consultants to ensure adherence to standards and accuracy in documentation

Required qualifications

• Associate degree (or higher) -OR- 2+ years professional work experience
• 2+ years' experience in Voice, Data, or Video networking
• Experience with GIS, ESRI, ArcGIS, and/or spatial analysis
• Thorough understanding of telecommunications industry principles
• Ability to read and assess fiber and/or HFC designs and prints
