Job Summary
Working remotely on a long-term contract basis, a Nevada Licensed Mainframe DB2 DBA will manage and administer DB2 databases and subsystems, monitor storage, and support capacity planning while collaborating with IT teams until at least 12/31/2026.
Key responsibilities
- Administer DB2 database and subsystems, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues
- Manage, monitor, and tune DB2 subsystems and application environments, including backup and recovery tasks
- Provide status reports and document changes, following established protocols and guidelines
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience with a minimum of seven years of DB2 DBA experience on the ZOS platform
- Experience administering complex DB2 environments with multiple subsystems
- Proficiency with ZOS tools and utilities such as TSO, ISPF, and JCL
- Expertise in evaluating and tuning SQL and DB2 subsystems
- Strong documentation and user requirement gathering skills
