Job Summary

To provide timely and audience-focused coverage across New England, particularly in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, the full-time remote New England Connect Reporter will create engaging videos and articles, monitor social media for story ideas, and collaborate with editors to cover high-interest topics.

Key responsibilities:

• Monitor email, social media, and community groups to identify and pursue stories
• Create several stories and videos daily, focusing on emerging topics of interest to readers
• Optimize content for competitive search ranking and user experience best practices

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Expertise in using various social media platforms, including Facebook, X, Instagram, and TikTok
• Experience with AI and automation tools to enhance journalism
• Strong command of concise writing, grammar, and AP style
• Ability to multi-task and work flexibly in a fast-paced environment
