Job Summary

A company is looking for a Trauma Registrar for Acute Care Surgery on a per diem basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately enter demographic and visit information into the trauma registry for eligible trauma patients
• Maintain the trauma registry to be 80% complete within 60 days of patient discharge
• Participate in data validation and improvement activities under supervision to ensure accurate data collection

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of additional experience can substitute for the degree
• Associate degree in Health Information Management or a related field preferred
• Completion of AAAMs Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) course within one year of hire required
• Minimum of one to three years of healthcare experience in trauma, critical care, emergency department, or medical coding required
• Knowledge of data abstraction and validation techniques is required
