New Jersey Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure the overall quality and completeness of medical record documentation, the part-time New Jersey Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist will facilitate modifications through collaboration with healthcare staff, support accurate clinical information documentation, and educate the patient care team in a remote capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the quality and completeness of medical record documentation through interaction with clinical staff
• Support timely and accurate documentation of clinical information for measuring physician and hospital outcomes
• Educate and communicate with all members of the patient care team on documentation processes

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Clinical Documentation Specialist in an acute care setting
• Registered Nurse license in any state; BSN or higher preferred
• CCDS or CDIP certification required
• Coding certification such as CCS or CRC; CIC is an acceptable equivalent
• Proficiency in EPIC EHR and knowledge of risk adjustment coding (PSI/HAC/HCC)
