Job Summary

To support clinical documentation improvement efforts, the part-time New Jersey Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist will ensure the quality and completeness of medical records, facilitate documentation modifications through collaboration with healthcare providers, and educate the patient care team, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities
  • Ensure the overall quality and completeness of medical record documentation
  • Facilitate modifications to clinical documentation through interaction with physicians and nursing staff
  • Educate the patient care team on documentation standards and practices
Required qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Clinical Documentation Specialist in an acute setting
  • Registered Nurse license in any state; BSN or higher preferred
  • Certification as CCDS or CDIP, with coding certification (CCS or CRC) preferred
  • Experience with EPIC EHR and knowledge of risk adjustment coding (PSI/HAC/HCC)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and typing (60 WPM)
