Job Summary
To support optimal coding accuracy, the part-time New Jersey Licensed HIM Coder will be responsible for coding inpatient records, collaborating with the CDI Team, and ensuring compliance with CMS policies while working remotely for approximately 22.5 hours a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Codes inpatient records, capturing diagnoses, procedures, and validating UHDDS elements
- Collaborates with the CDI Team to ensure optimal code capture and reimbursement compliance
- Completes coding of all discharges, meeting productivity and accuracy requirements
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED
- CCS-AHIMA's Certified Coding Specialist certification
- 2-5 years of coding experience in ICD-10 and DRGs
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM & ICD-10-PCS, and anatomy & physiology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; EPIC and CAC experience beneficial
