New Jersey Licensed Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary

To support the 988 Lifeline Services, a full-time New Jersey Licensed Mental Health Specialist will manage client interactions through telephone, chat, and text, providing assessments, support, and appropriate referrals while demonstrating effective communication and recovery-oriented skills.

Key responsibilities

• Accept and respond to service requests within prescribed timeframes, ensuring client needs are met
• Conduct assessments and document client interactions accurately in accordance with departmental protocols
• Collaborate with staff and referral sources to ensure effective client support and disposition

Required qualifications

• Four years of relevant full-time paid experience in a mental health field or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant mental health, social, or human services field
• Knowledge of resources and programs relevant to the 988 Lifeline Services
• Ability to handle phone requests under time and decision-making pressure
• Experience in crisis intervention and support
• Familiarity with documentation and data input in informational systems
