New Jersey Licensed Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary

To support the 988 Lifeline Services, a per diem New Jersey Licensed Mental Health Specialist will manage service requests through telephone, chat, and text, providing assessments, support, and appropriate referrals while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of resources.

Key responsibilities

• Models effective communication and recovery-oriented living skills to clients
• Accepts and responds to service requests within prescribed timeframes
• Documents client interactions accurately in accordance with departmental protocols

Required qualifications

• Four years of relevant full-time paid experience in a mental health field or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant mental health, social, or human services field
• Competency in crisis intervention techniques
• Ability to handle phone requests under time and decision-making pressure
• Knowledge of community resources and programs related to mental health services
• Experience working in a customer service-oriented environment
