New Jersey Licensed Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary

To support the 988 Lifeline Services, a part-time New Jersey Licensed Mental Health Specialist will provide assessment and support for clients through telephone, chat, and text interactions, working from 4 PM to 12:30 AM on Saturdays and Sundays.

Key responsibilities

• Accept service requests and respond to client inquiries in a timely manner
• Model effective communication and recovery-oriented living skills to clients
• Document client interactions and maintain up-to-date knowledge of available resources and programs

Required qualifications

• Four years of relevant full-time paid experience in a mental health field or a Bachelor's Degree in a related area
• Competency in recognizing and addressing the unique needs of clients
• Ability to handle phone requests under time and decision-making pressure
• Experience with crisis intervention
• Familiarity with documentation protocols in mental health settings
