New Jersey Licensed Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary

To support the 988 Lifeline Services, a part-time New Jersey Licensed Mental Health Specialist will manage client interactions via phone, chat, and text, conducting assessments and providing support and referrals while ensuring timely responses and effective collaboration with team members.

Key responsibilities

• Accepts and responds to service requests, demonstrating good communication and recovery-oriented living skills
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of resources and programs to guide clients effectively
• Documents client interactions accurately in accordance with departmental protocols

Required qualifications

• Four years of relevant full-time paid experience in a mental health field or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant mental health, social, or human services field
• Ability to handle phone requests under time and decision-making pressure
• Experience in crisis intervention
• Familiarity with documentation and data input in informational systems
• Competency in recognizing and addressing the unique needs of clients
