New Jersey Licensed Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary

Providing critical support to clients of the 988 Lifeline Services, the per diem New Jersey Licensed Mental Health Specialist will assess service needs, interact therapeutically with clients, and ensure effective handling of requests while documenting interactions and interventions in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Interacts with clients in a therapeutic manner to provide support and guidance
• Assesses service requests and determines appropriate referrals or dispositions according to established procedures
• Documents assessments, interventions, and client interactions in a timely manner

Required qualifications

• Four years of relevant full-time paid experience in a mental health field or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant mental health, social, or human services field
• Ability to handle phone requests under time and decision-making pressure
• Experience with crisis intervention
• Competency in recognizing and addressing the unique needs of clients
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends
