New Jersey Licensed Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary

To support the 988 Lifeline Services, a part-time New Jersey Licensed Mental Health Specialist will perform assessments, respond to client requests via phone, chat, and text, and provide appropriate referrals and support while maintaining a collaborative approach with team members.

Key responsibilities

• Models effective communication and recovery-oriented living skills for clients
• Accepts and responds to service requests within prescribed timeframes
• Documents client interactions accurately in accordance with departmental protocols

Required qualifications

• Four years of relevant full-time paid experience in a mental health field or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant mental health, social, or human services field
• Knowledge of mental health resources and programs
• Ability to perform assessments and make appropriate referrals
• Experience handling crisis situations effectively
• Competency in documenting client interactions in an informational system
