New Jersey Licensed Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary

To support the 988 Lifeline Services, a part-time New Jersey Licensed Mental Health Specialist will interact with clients through telephone, chat, and text, providing assessments and appropriate referrals while ensuring prompt and customer-friendly service.

Key responsibilities

• Interacts with clients in a therapeutic manner to assess their needs and provide support
• Handles all service requests effectively and documents assessments and interventions in a timely manner
• Assesses client conditions to authorize appropriate dispositions and referrals based on established procedures

Required qualifications

• Four years of relevant full-time paid experience in a mental health field or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant mental health, social, or human services field
• Competency in recognizing and addressing the unique needs of clients
• Ability to manage time-sensitive phone requests under pressure
• Experience with crisis intervention
• Willingness to work evening shifts and adapt to a remote work arrangement
