New Jersey Licensed Peer Support Specialist

Job Summary

To support the 988 Lifeline Services, the part-time New Jersey Licensed Peer Support Specialist will provide engagement, support, and assessment for callers, ensuring quality service through effective communication and appropriate referrals, with the potential for a fully remote work arrangement.

Key responsibilities:

• Interact with clients in a therapeutic manner to foster engagement and support
• Assess service requests and respond according to prescribed procedures for effective service delivery
• Manage documentation and follow-up for calls, chats, and texts to ensure thorough client support

Required qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of four years of full-time experience in the mental health care field
• Self-identified current or former user of mental health or co-occurring services with at least one year of experience supporting others
• Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation and the recovery model
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
