New Jersey Licensed Underwriting Lead

Job Summary

Supervising a team of underwriters, the full-time New Jersey Licensed Underwriting Lead will evaluate and underwrite HECM and Proprietary reverse mortgage loan files while collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance with company policies and guidelines in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor team performance for the review and decisioning of reverse mortgage loans
• Conduct second-level reviews and assist in resolving escalation questions
• Collaborate with underwriters, processors, and sales teams to structure reverse transactions

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of recent HECM and/or Proprietary mortgage underwriting experience
• DE Certification required
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a team
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to interpret and communicate regulatory guidance effectively
