Job Summary
New Mexico Licensed IP Facility Coder, working full-time in a remote capacity, is responsible for coding inpatient and outpatient hospital records, ensuring compliance with coding standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Code various hospital records and specialty services using ICD-9/10 CM and CPT-4 classification systems
- Review medical records to assign appropriate codes for financial reimbursement and compliance with federal regulations
- Resolve pre-bill edits and denials for assigned accounts, ensuring timely coding completion
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must possess one of the following coding certifications at the time of hire: CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, or RHIT/RHIA
- Must achieve one of the coding credentials within one year of hire
- Three to five years of experience as a coder is required
