Job Summary
To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time New Mexico Licensed IP Facility Coder will code inpatient and outpatient hospital records, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and departmental policies while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Demonstrates knowledge of coding multiple service areas or extensive experience in a specific specialty
- Reviews patient medical records to assign appropriate codes for financial reimbursement and research
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of legal and regulatory coding information and resolves pre-bill edits and denials
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Certification as CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, or RHIT/RHIA required at time of hire
- Three to five years of coding experience required
