Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time Remote OP Facility Coder will be responsible for coding inpatient and outpatient hospital records, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines, and maintaining high accuracy and productivity standards.

Key responsibilities
  • Code various types of medical records using ICD-9/10 CM and CPT-4 classification systems, demonstrating expertise in multiple service areas or specific specialties
  • Review patient medical records to assign appropriate codes for financial reimbursement and compliance with federal regulations
  • Resolve pre-bill edits and denials for assigned accounts while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding regulations and guidelines
Required qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One of the following coding certifications at time of hire: HCS-D, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, or RHIT/RHIA, with achievement of one within one year of hire
  • Three to five years of experience as a coder required
  • Inpatient coding experience preferred
