Job Summary

To support coding operations, the part-time Remote OP Facility Coder will review and code inpatient and outpatient hospital records, ensuring compliance with regulations while maintaining productivity and accuracy standards.

Key responsibilities

• Code various medical records, including inpatient, outpatient, and specialty services, using ICD-9/10 CM and CPT-4 classification systems
• Review complete medical records to assign appropriate codes for financial reimbursement and research in accordance with federal regulations
• Resolve pre-bill edits and denials for assigned accounts while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• One of the following coding certifications at time of hire: HCS-D, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, or RHIT/RHIA, with achievement of one within one year of hire
• Three to five years of coding experience required
• Inpatient coding experience preferred
