Job Summary

To support coding operations, the part-time Remote OP Facility Coder will accurately code inpatient and outpatient hospital records, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and maintaining a high accuracy rate while working remotely.

Key responsibilities
  • Code various medical records, including inpatient, outpatient, and specialty services, using ICD-9/10 CM and CPT-4 classification systems
  • Review patient medical records to assign appropriate codes for financial reimbursement and research, adhering to hospital policies
  • Resolve pre-bill edits and denials for assigned accounts, maintaining productivity standards and participating in departmental updates
Required qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One of the following coding certifications at the time of hire: HCS-D, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, or RHIT/RHIA, with one credential achieved within one year of hire
  • Three to five years of coding experience required
  • Inpatient coding experience preferred
