Job Summary
To support the coding and documentation quality assurance team, the full-time Remote New Mexico Licensed Pro Fee Coder will manage compliance with coding policies and regulations, perform internal audits, and develop educational programs while working from home.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison to various departments to address coding, auditing, compliance, and training issues
- Research and implement corrective action plans for coding and billing compliance issues
- Assist in creating the annual audit work-plan by utilizing regulatory guidelines and risk assessments
Required qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required; must possess one of the following certifications: RHIT, RHIA, CPC, or CCS
- Minimum of three years of experience in coding and/or auditing
- Proficient knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer regulations
- Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
