New York Finance Analyst

Job Summary

Providing financial analysis and reporting support, the full-time remote New York Finance Analyst will manage financial transactions, monitor budgets, and prepare forecasts for the Cornell Experience Modernization Initiative and Information Technology departments.

Key responsibilities

• Process and reconcile financial transactions while ensuring compliance with financial policies
• Monitor budgets and personnel expenditures, providing analysis and recommendations for operational decision-making
• Develop and maintain financial reporting tools and dashboards to communicate financial health and performance

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field with 2 years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting in a complex environment
• Knowledge of accounting principles and experience with budget monitoring and variance analysis
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and data analysis
• Ability to prepare and present financial reports and recommendations to stakeholders
