New York Licensed Claims Specialist

Job Summary

Serving as the main point of contact for inbound claims, the full-time New York Licensed Claims Specialist will manage the claims process for commercial auto, ensuring professionalism and efficiency while coordinating with involved parties and adhering to state regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review claim documentation and assess situations to provide next steps based on defined workflows
• Negotiate and resolve claims, including setting reserves and making settlement recommendations
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and company policies while providing excellent customer service throughout the claims process

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of insurance experience specializing in adjusting auto claims
• New York Independent State Adjuster license required, with the ability to obtain necessary licensing within 30 days of hire
• Experience handling high frequency, low severity auto claims, particularly property and liability
• Familiarity with estimating platforms for material damage claims
• Strong analytical reasoning skills with the ability to make autonomous decisions
