Job Summary

Facilitating clinical documentation improvement, the full-time New York Licensed Clinical Document Specialist will engage with healthcare teams to enhance documentation accuracy, support inpatient admissions, and ensure compliance with regulations while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:
  • Facilitates modifications in clinical documentation to ensure accuracy of medical conditions for inpatient encounters
  • Communicates with physicians and medical teams to provide guidance on documentation standards and reimbursement opportunities
  • Presents findings to stakeholders and educates peers on documentation improvement and performance metrics
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or relevant clinical discipline with 5 years of inpatient clinical experience
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Medical Doctor license required
  • Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS) or Clinical Documentation Improvement Professional (CDIP) certification preferred
  • Knowledge of complex disease processes and prior experience with EPARC and eRecord preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
