Job Summary
To enhance clinical documentation accuracy, the full-time New York Licensed Clinical Document Specialist will facilitate improvements through collaboration with healthcare teams, ensuring compliance with documentation standards and maximizing revenue in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities:
- Facilitates clinical documentation improvement through interaction with physicians and healthcare teams, addressing gaps and ensuring accurate medical condition representation
- Oversees EPARC processes and communicates with medical staff to provide guidance on documentation for principal diagnoses and complicating conditions
- Presents findings to stakeholders and educates peers on documentation improvement and reimbursement opportunities
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or a relevant clinical discipline with 5 years of inpatient clinical experience
- Current New York State license as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Medical Doctor
- Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS) or Clinical Documentation Improvement Professional (CDIP) certification preferred
- Prior experience with EPARC, eRecord, HDM, and SharePoint preferred
