Job Summary
Facilitating clinical documentation improvement, the full-time New York Licensed Clinical Document Specialist will engage with physicians and healthcare teams to enhance documentation accuracy, support inpatient admission severity, and optimize revenue in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities:
- Facilitates modifications in clinical documentation to ensure accuracy of medical conditions for inpatient encounters
- Provides oversight of EPARC, communicating with physicians to clarify diagnoses and ensure complete documentation
- Presents findings to stakeholders and educates healthcare team members on documentation improvement and reimbursement opportunities
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or a relevant clinical discipline with 5 years of inpatient clinical experience
- Current New York State Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Medical Doctor license required upon hire
- Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS) or Clinical Documentation Improvement Professional (CDIP) certification preferred
- Knowledge of complex disease processes and trends in clinical diagnoses
- Prior experience with EPARC, eRecord, HDM, and SharePoint preferred
