Job Summary
To enhance clinical documentation practices, the full-time New York Licensed Clinical Document Specialist will facilitate interactions with healthcare teams, ensuring accurate documentation of inpatient encounters while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Facilitates clinical documentation improvement through interactions with physicians and healthcare teams to support accurate medical condition documentation
- Provides oversight of clinical documentation queues and communicates with medical staff to ensure complete and accurate documentation
- Presents findings to stakeholders and educates peers on documentation improvement and reimbursement opportunities
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or a relevant clinical discipline with 5 years of inpatient clinical experience
- Current New York State Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Medical Doctor license required upon hire
- Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS) or Clinical Documentation Improvement Professional (CDIP) certification preferred upon hire
- Knowledge of complex disease processes and trends that lead to payer denials
- Prior experience with EPARC, eRecord, HDM, and SharePoint preferred
