New York Licensed Electrical Estimator

Job Summary

Seeking a dynamic New York Licensed Electrical Estimator for a hybrid contract-to-hire role in New York, NY, where the successful candidate will prepare cost estimates for multidiscipline construction projects, including substations and steam generation facilities, while collaborating with engineering and construction teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare conceptual, authorization, and appropriation cost estimates for multidiscipline construction projects
• Develop estimates based on preliminary work scopes, drawings, and sketches, utilizing personal experience and historical data
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, and user organizations to ensure comprehensive project estimates

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of applicable work experience, or an Associate's degree with 7 years of experience, or a Technical High School Diploma with 15 years of experience
• Experience in power utility or heavy industrial cost estimating in at least one discipline (e.g., electrical, civil, mechanical)
• Familiarity with transmission, distribution, or generation engineering design and/or construction, particularly in substations and steam generation facilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, CEES, or similar estimating software
• Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and changing priorities
