Job Summary

A company is looking for an Emergency Department Coder.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately assign ICD and CPT codes for Emergency Department services and related areas
• Review clinical documentation and communicate with providers to resolve incomplete or conflicting information
• Identify and resolve coding edits and bill holds to ensure clean claim submissions

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Associate degree in health information technology or related field preferred
• Certification from either AHIMA or AAPC is required
• One or more years of hospital coding experience preferred
• High degree of mental and visual concentration required
• Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and productivity
