New York Licensed Legal Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Legal Counsel to join their team as the sole in-house attorney.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and negotiate key commercial agreements, including customer contracts and vendor agreements
• Review and advise on customer contracts and support the sales team
• Handle intellectual property matters and coordinate with external counsel on complex legal issues

Required Qualifications

• 6-10 years of professional experience as a transactional attorney with a focus on commercial contracts
• Licensed to practice law in New York or ability to become licensed
• Experience with technology/SaaS agreements and data privacy laws preferred
• Strong business judgment and ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives
• Experience in a startup or fast-paced work environment preferred
